UNITS Atlanta Breaks Down Spring Cleaning

What amazing weather Atlanta has seen this week! Sunshine, birds singing and the sound of our kids playing outdoors. This great weather has give me Spring Fever. With Spring comes the dreaded Spring cleaning we are all so fond of. Yuck...what a pain! This year lets do it together! UNITS Atlanta will be breaking down process for you over the next few weeks to make it more manageable.

1) Find the Problem Areas by Room:
Can you fix a problem if you don't know what it is? I sure can't! So let's start by looking at each room in our homes and making lists of all the problem areas. For instance:
  • Piles of mail on the table
  • Heaps of coats and sweaters on the back of a chair
  • Everyone's shoes thrown in the entry way
  • Toys...well, they are everywhere!
2)Figure Out Why:
Instead of cleaning these areas to come back and clean them again in a week lets take a moment to figure out why they came to this state of chaos. Why are the shoes in the entry way? After we figure out the "Why?" we can work on solving this problem forever!

3) Find a Solution:
Lets find that solution! Are you in need of organization tools or perhaps a portable storage container? Is it happening because you don't have the right stuff or you have too much stuff? Sometimes bad behaviors and normal responsibilities have not been neglected. It is so easy to start overlooking bad habits when you are so busy and overwhelmed.

4) Implement that Solution:
Order your UNIT and buy those organizational tools you need to put your plan into action. Get the family involved in setting up these new tools. Teach the family how to use these new items and clearly explain what is expected from each member. Bad habits are hard to break so be patience while trying to get everyone on board.

Room by room break down starts next week. UNITS Atlanta can be reached at 678-838-6556 and one of our local Customer Care Specialists are waiting for your call.

Should You "Get a UNIT!"?

Are you moving, de-cluttering/staging or renovating? If the answer is yes, then you should definitely, “Get a UNIT!” Here’s why...

Moving – We will deliver your UNIT right to your door for you to pack at your leisure. Let us know when it’s full and we’ll move it right to the front door of your new home.

De-cluttering/Staging – UNITS are perfect for de-cluttering or staging purposes because once you load it we can store it for you at our climate controlled warehouse until you are ready to have it brought back or taken to your new home.

UNITS are the most structurally secure, water-tight portable storage containers in the industry. Made of reinforced steel and fiberglass, UNITS are made to be naturally UV and mold resistant and are the only containers to offer an exclusive E-Track System to safely and easily secure your belongings within.

Smart Storage Ideas When Remodeling or Renovating

When renovating or remodeling your home it is important to make sure all of your belongings are safe from damage and stored securely. Renovating can be a stressful time - especially when you are preparing to sell your home in a tough market, expanding for a family member, or hoping to increase the value of your house. You certainly don't need any additional concerns about moving your furniture and important possessions and that's where portable storage comes in.

UNITS Portable Storage offers an easy way to store your treasured items quickly and efficiently. A container can be dropped off at your home and remain there for as long as the renovation process takes. Constructed of galvanized steel and reinforced fiberglass, these portable storage containers are designed to be U/V, mold and water resistant.

If you don't want the container to stay on your property there are other options as well. For instance, if you would prefer, the storage unit can be moved to a temporary place of residency or stored in the secure, temperature-controlled (A/C and heat) UNITS Portable Storage warehouse.

Some of the items you might think about storing in a mobile container to ensure they do not get damaged include:

-Bedroom furniture or mattresses: Plastic covers are available to protect your mattresses while being stored in the container.

-Couches, chairs, or anything with upholstery: Furniture with fabric can be easily damaged by debris, paint or other items, if left in the house.

-Heavy items such as entertainment centers and appliances: These need to be moved out of the way so they don't impede work flow.

-Small valuables like decorations, knick-knacks, and pictures: Inside the container there is an E-track system, which allows you to safely secure your belongings to the side walls. This is especially necessary if you decide to move the container.

In conclusion, remember to keep UNITS Portable Storage in mind when preparing for a remodel or renovation to your home. Choosing portable storage over a storage facility can prove to be a lot easier on your wallet and your busy schedule.

Portable Storage is Your Moving Solution

It's official: it is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Time to take advantage of these really long days of sunlight. Get out your summer to-do list and get cracking. Maybe you're getting ready for a big move while the kids are out of school, or you're planning to renovate your home while the weather is nice and cooperative. Either way, portable storage units can make your life so much easier.

Instead of searching out local storage facilities, or renting big trucks with poor alignment or temporarily kicking the cars out of their rightful spot in the garage, consider having a strong, watertight portable storage container delivered right to your door, on your terms (not someone else's schedule) for as long as you need it. Or, if you covet your driveway space or need to quickly declutter your home, we can whisk the container off to our secure, temperature-controlled (A/C and heat) warehouse for safekeeping.

With summer here, it's time to move it, move it. UNITS Mobile Storage offers one of the most convenient and trusted ways to get the job done with much less stress on your part. If you're in the market for portable storage, call today for a free quote: 678-838-6556.

Moving Back Home? UNITS Can Help

Like everyone else, you’ve been riding the economic rollercoaster of life. We certainly have at UNITS Mobile Storage. We’ve been helping customers who have been foreclosed upon as well as those moving back home after losing a job or being unable to find one. With national unemployment holding steady at around 10%, more people are heading back “home” than ever before.

If you’re a recent college grad or someone struggling to find a regular paycheck and are leaning on your parents, friends, or other family members right now for a place to live, the following tips might prove useful. UNITS can help you move home and share ways you can save a little money while you get back on your feet.

Sell it! When you live on your own, you tend to accumulate a lot of things (e.g. trinkets, excess furniture, and accessories), so host a yard or garage sale and turn those items into a profit. Post the sale on Craigslist or eBay. Remember, one man’s “trash” is another man’s treasure.

Find another use for it! Many items have a variety of uses; just employ some creativity. Do you still have that giant CD player that once was the centerpiece of your old entertainment center? Simply add the speakers to your computer, and voila, you have an enhanced sound system. Or, try turning your college poker table into a kitchen table. It can be fun and eclectic. You get the gist.

Go digital! Transfer CDs and movies, which just take up extra space, onto your computer, MP3 player or cell phone, and then sell the originals.

Store it! You might find yourself in possession of a washer and dryer, with no room to store it. You don’t want to get rid of them, because let’s face it, they aren’t cheap. A simple solution, while you live temporarily at your folks or a friend’s house, is to store them (and other large items) in a UNITS portable storage container in a temperature-controlled warehouse. That will save you from having to invest in new ones down the road.

Give it to charity! The best thing to do with unwanted belongings you don’t feel comfortable selling, but know someone else could really benefit from, is to give them to charity. There are millions of charities out there and most would be more than willing to take on your “gently used” items. Identify a charity or two that you care about in your community and see if they can put your stuff to good use.

Moving back in with your parents may not be ideal, but it won’t be forever. Try to stay upbeat and allow others to help you during this economic rough patch. And, believe me, you are not alone!

For a free quote or more information on portable storage options, call 678-838-6556.
