So you've committed to a move and you have a UNITS mobile storage container on the way. Never fear, packing a UNITS storage container is easier than you might think. Each UNITS container has a unique e-racking system, so you can safely secure your belongings, which is especially important during transit throughout Atlanta's hilly terrain. And, UNITS have a translucent roof, so you can see what you're doing inside. As a bonus, UNITS can deliver up steep or winding driveways, right to your door. Ground level access and a generous roll-up door opening (8' x 8') make packing and unpacking that much easier.
Use these moving tips as a guideline for loading your mobile storage container, and remember UNITS offers packing supplies and accessories, all of which can be delivered at the same time as your UNITS storage container. We'll even buy back any unused supplies at full price.

1. Pack old towels, blankets, etc. between boxes to minimize the shifting of boxes inside the storage UNIT.
2. Do not over pack boxes; bulging box sides can damage surrounding boxes.
3. Place liquid containers in plastic bags to reduce the chance of leaking.
4. Number each box. Create a list for each box and its contents. This will help in case a box goes missing, you need to make a claim, or when looking for items in your new location.
5. Keep all items from each room together. Sorting of contents will be easier and save time.
6. Purchase more boxes then what you think you’ll use; you never can have enough. UNITS will even buy back any unused supplies at full price.
7. Reinforce boxes with at least one strip of packing tape on both the bottom and top of each box.
8. Wrap all items with paper to reduce scratching.
9. Position heavy items in the bottom of the box and lighter ones on top.
10. Utilize over-sized boxes for lampshades, delicate cushions and pillows.
11. Leave clothes in dresser drawers, and use wardrobe boxes.
12. Wrap framed pictures and artwork in bubble wrap for added security.
13. Remove light bulbs from lamps before packing.
14. Utilize straps to secure large items such as couches, refrigerators, dresser drawers, and entertainment stands. All UNITS containers offer an E-racking system for easy tie-down.
15. Place large or heavy items in the back or sides of the UNIT.
16. Leave enough space inside the container for a hand truck, it makes life much easier when you’re ready to unload.
17. Make sure your UNIT is secure by placing a lock on the container.
18. Place packed boxes in order so unloading will take less time and you’ll have the essential items up front.
19. Never pack or store any items that could cause a fire or damage to the UNIT (e.g. gasoline, chemicals or heavy machinery).
